What's Going On!

Where it all began! 29th June 1970
Thursday 29th June 2000
My father W J Green started his career as a plumber, taking time to understand the industry, then with the ambition of building a house in every Leicestershire village, he would build speculatively, building houses through the winter, they would sell during summer while we took holidays & bought new plots. He completed some 40 individual homes the latter ones I was fortunate enough to be by his side helping him from a very young age. This was a time when master builders really did have a place and were respected as such. I took great joy as a youngster when he sold a semi detached house in sileby to a Leicester City Footballer. 29th June 1970 was when my father registered with the National House Building Council, originally with the lighthouse logo, the very same registration we are proud to maintain today.
